Gundrum recognized for leading CATHEXIS through a pivotal year of integration, operational alignment, and strategic transformation
TYSONS, VA / ACCESS Newswire / June 4, 2026 / CATHEXIS today announced that Chief Executive Officer Shawn Gundrum has received WashingtonExec's 2026 Chief Officer Award for Private Company CEO of the Year, Annual Revenue Less than $100M.
The award recognizes Gundrum's leadership during a defining year for CATHEXIS. In 2025, following its first major acquisition, he led the full integration of Paradyme into CATHEXIS - bringing together two distinct companies, expanding technology capabilities, strengthening its operational infrastructure, and positioning the business for its next stage of growth as a modern federal systems integrator in the full and open market.
'This recognition reflects the work of so many people across CATHEXIS,' said Gundrum. 'Over the last several years, we made deliberate choices about the company we wanted to become and took on a tremendous amount of change while staying disciplined and committed to our customers. I'm incredibly proud of what we accomplished and excited about what's ahead.'
Under Gundrum's direction, by late 2025 CATHEXIS had completed full operational integration, unified leadership structures, and undergone a comprehensive rebrand. It also launched CATHEXIS Labs as the company's internal innovation hub, driving a shift from purely services-based delivery toward mission-aligned product development. Since its launch, CATHEXIS Labs has introduced AI accelerators and SaaS-oriented offerings designed to help federal customers deliver stronger mission outcomes.
'Shawn has helped create the conditions for our teams to move quickly while staying disciplined,' said Sang Na, Chief AI Officer at CATHEXIS. 'As we expand CATHEXIS Labs, AI solutions, and mission-focused technology offerings, his balance of urgency, accountability, and people-first leadership will define CATHEXIS' next chapter.'
The WashingtonExec Chief Officer Awards recognize executives across government and industry who are shaping the future of government contracting. This year's program brought together leaders from across the GovCon community to honor executives driving growth, innovation, and mission impact.
