CHICAGO, Illinois: Reuters has reported that United Airlines and Boeing are close to reaching agreement for placing a major 787 Dreamliner order.
While no details are available, the precise size of the order is expected to be significant and announced as soon as this month.
The Wall Street Journal previously reported that United was close to ordering many 787 Dreamliners.
In October, Bloomberg News said United was evaluating offers from Boeing and from Airbus SE's A350, and was close to ordering more than 100 widebody jets.
Boeing previously said it was continuing to produce 787s at a low rate, and "will gradually return to five airplanes per month, over time," adding that there was strong demand and more than 400 widebody airplanes in backlog, "we anticipate higher production rates."
